Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of experience in heavy diesel vehicle repair preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to learn and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
- Must be able to obtain airport security clearance and badges
- Knowledge of system operation theories
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work in variable weather and environmental conditions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years experience in heavy diesel vehicle experience preferred
- Possess knowledge of theories of systems operation
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Valid ASE certification or other diesel certification is a plus
- Must be able to secure proper airport authority security badges
Job Duties
- Trained to inspect, service, troubleshoot, repair, replace, and overhaul ground support equipment and components such as chassis, body, and drive-train components
- Ability to learn electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Perform preventative and routine maintenance such as oil changes, replacing/adding coolant and fluids, brake and tire changes on ground equipment
- Perform minor repair of ground support equipment such as carburetors, starter motors, alternators, batteries, radiators, hydraulic drive components, and diesel engines under supervision
- Assist with transporting parts, distributing parts to technicians, inputting parts into system and properly storing parts, and assisting with parts inventory counts
- Assist with offloading equipment and freight
- Escort contractors and vehicles in/out of SCLA airport as needed
- Perform yard starts and equipment availability reporting
- Assist with shop maintenance, including light building maintenance and maintaining shop tools, washing equipment, etc.
- Able to safely and legally operate a motor vehicle
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in an effective, safe working condition
- Report any safety violations, machining equipment misuse, and/or improperly performed work to supervisor or lead
- Responsible for complying with rules and regulations set forth by federal, local, and state governments, Mercury GSE, and HSE Procedures
- Keep work area clean and free of safety hazards
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
