Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree is preferred in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Engineering or related scientific field or equivalent experience
- at least 6 years of industry experience
- experience in a highly regulated environment
- strong knowledge related to process and product development
- previous experience overseeing complex projects in a matrix-ed environment
- ability to work fully onsite in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania
- excellent communication and collaboration skills
- willingness to adhere to GMP and EHS&S training and procedures strictly
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Engineering or related scientific field or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of industry experience
- experience in a highly regulated environment
- strong knowledge of process and product development
- previous experience overseeing complex projects in a matrix-ed environment
- experience within Consumer, OTC or Pharmaceutical industry preferred
Job Duties
- Ensure quality and compliance by attending GMP and EHS&S training designated for the role
- adhere to strict compliance with procedures applicable to the role
- exercise the highest level of integrity in performing tasks
- identify, report, and seek correction for workplace deviations promptly
- commit to doing the job right the first time
- plan, coordinate and oversee pilot plant operations including scale-up, process optimization, equipment maintenance, sample analysis and documentation
- identify and propose technical solutions or innovations to improve products or business processes
- design, coordinate and implement project tasks including experiments and sample management
- prepare, review and approve technical memos, reports and analyses with scientific rationale
- oversee investigations related to product deviations, stability issues, and consumer complaints and conduct related laboratory experiments
- lead manufacturing process improvements through data analysis and process modification proposals
- oversee timely completion of pilot plant operations consistent with new product development
- support technical transfer of manufacturing technologies from pilot to commercial scale
- prepare and assist in manufacturing pilot plant batches and associated documentation
- develop project scopes, budgets, schedules and engineering specifications
- support design, maintenance, calibration and qualification of pilot plant equipment
- provide direction and mentorship to other scientists and co-ops
