Job Requirements
- Prior FSQA Tech position experience
- FSQA Tech 2 - Floater experience
- Ability to print labels using Easy Label software
- Capability to send emails to management, suppliers, and laboratory
- Availability to work weekends
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary
- Ability to perform essential job functions
- Strong understanding of farm-to-fork food safety practices
- Flexibility to adapt to changing job duties as needed
- Commitment to adhering to quality assurance protocols
- Effective communication skills
- Physical ability to conduct inspections and stand for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in USDA-regulated environment
- Prior FSQA Tech position experience
- Experience as FSQA Tech 2 - Floater
- Label printing experience with Easy Label software
- Ability to communicate professionally via email with management, suppliers, and laboratory
- Bilingual Spanish language skills are a plus
- Basic skills in MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Job Duties
- Oversee the daily pre-operational inspections
- Collect ATP swabs daily to validate sanitation effectiveness
- Manage the labelling room and assist in printing labels for master cases
- Conduct daily SSOP operational inspections in compliance with USDA requirements
- Send emails to Great Kitchens management team addressing any discrepancies found
- Participate in internal audit inspections monthly
- Collect finished pizza samples and maintain sample area cleanliness and organization
- Review and verify receiving records and QA paperwork for accuracy
- Lead and assist the QA team in daily operations
- Collaborate with Operations and other departments to resolve food safety and quality issues
- Report any GMP violations in production, freezers, cooler, shipping and receiving, and outside areas
- Assist with daily paperwork and cooking for sensory evaluations
- Cover Shipping and Receiving processes in absence of Shipping/Receiving tech
- Send emails to management regarding deficiencies, request slaughterhouse information for Canadian products, and request COAs as needed
- Act as backup for FSQA lab technician responsibilities during their absence
- Undertake projects as assigned by QA Supervisor and/or Manager
- Maintain and uphold requirements of BRC Food Safety Code for Manufacturing and BRC standards
- Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) including hand washing and employee hygiene
- Follow USDA guidelines strictly
- Report any food safety or quality issues to supervision or quality assurance
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements when applicable
