Job Requirements
- No experience required
- must be able to read, write and count accurately
- ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and overtime
- ability to move and transfer merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds
- ability to push and pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with equipment
- ability to lift and reach overhead occasionally
- able to frequently stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop and climb ladders
- ability to operate store equipment including dolly, handtruck, forklift and baler (forklift and baler requirements exempt if under 18)
- ability to safely access all store areas
- ability to handle and be in contact with birds/poultry
- ability to complete required training including propane certification if applicable
- ability to maintain favorable attendance
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to read, write, and count accurately
- strong communication and problem-solving skills
- basic computer skills
- strong interpersonal skills with ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict
- farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred
- ability to follow company safety training and guidelines
Job Duties
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance
- work scheduled shifts and have the ability to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends and overtime as dictated by business needs
- greet the customer and uncover their needs and wants
- recommend product solutions and ask to add value and appreciate the customer
- operate cash register/computer following cash handling procedures
- recover merchandise and participate in mandatory freight process
- complete plan-o-gram procedures including merchandising, sets, and resets
- assemble merchandise and perform janitorial duties
- execute price changes/markdowns
- operate forklift and cardboard baler when applicable
- assist customers with loading purchases
- ensure the customer has a legendary shopping experience
- ensure the safety and well-being of birds including sanitizing and maintaining poultry holding tanks
- complete all documentation associated with job duties
- perform other duties as assigned
