Job Requirements

  • minimum age of 18 years
  • high school diploma or GED
  • minimum of 3 months' experience in early childhood education providing direct child care and supervision
  • completion of 3 semester hours of academic study or equivalent training in early childhood education
  • knowledge of safety requirements for young children
  • ability to manage classroom behavior
  • ability to plan lessons that target developmentally appropriate skills
  • ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and parents

Job Qualifications

  • minimum age of 18 years

Job Duties

  • supervising children birth to five in a group setting
  • educating children to help accomplish learning benchmarks
  • planning lessons aligned with developmentally appropriate skills and the approved curriculum
  • managing classroom behavior to keep students engaged
  • providing individual support and feedback to students
  • conducting student assessments
  • facilitating parent-teacher conferences and maintaining parent relationships
  • guiding and directing assistant teachers, classroom aides, and student learners
  • managing daily attendance and food service records
