Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Preschool Child Development Associate credential or equivalent
  • Enrollment in a Child Development Associate Credential program if required
  • Six months experience in early childhood development
  • Twelve credit hours from accredited college or university including at least six credit hours in Early Childhood Development or related field
  • Bilingual Spanish/English
  • Basic keyboard and computer skills
  • Ability to abide by all relevant federal and state regulations
  • Ability to actively supervise children by sight and sound
  • Willingness to complete credential program within two years if not already completed
  • Education obtained outside USA must be evaluated for equivalency

Job Qualifications

  • Preschool Child Development Associate credential or a state-awarded certificate meeting or exceeding Preschool CDA requirements
  • High school diploma or GED with 6 months early childhood development experience and 12 credit hours including 6 in Early Childhood Development or related field
  • Enrollment in a Child Development Associate Credential program to be completed within 2 years if applicable
  • Bilingual Spanish/English skills
  • Basic computer and software proficiency

Job Duties

  • Assist and partner with the teacher in planning and implementing the classroom-learning environment
  • Provide high-quality developmentally appropriate care and education for children aged 3-5
  • Participate as part of a center-based interdisciplinary team to support child development
  • Provide education, disabilities, health, and social service support to families
  • Abide by all relevant state and federal regulations including Head Start Program Performance Standards and Head Start Act
  • Actively supervise children in all environments by sight and sound at all times
  • Maintain health and safety regulations to create a safe learning environment
