Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Preschool Child Development Associate credential or equivalent
- Enrollment in a Child Development Associate Credential program if required
- Six months experience in early childhood development
- Twelve credit hours from accredited college or university including at least six credit hours in Early Childhood Development or related field
- Bilingual Spanish/English
- Basic keyboard and computer skills
- Ability to abide by all relevant federal and state regulations
- Ability to actively supervise children by sight and sound
- Willingness to complete credential program within two years if not already completed
- Education obtained outside USA must be evaluated for equivalency
Job Qualifications
- Preschool Child Development Associate credential or a state-awarded certificate meeting or exceeding Preschool CDA requirements
- High school diploma or GED with 6 months early childhood development experience and 12 credit hours including 6 in Early Childhood Development or related field
- Enrollment in a Child Development Associate Credential program to be completed within 2 years if applicable
- Bilingual Spanish/English skills
- Basic computer and software proficiency
Job Duties
- Assist and partner with the teacher in planning and implementing the classroom-learning environment
- Provide high-quality developmentally appropriate care and education for children aged 3-5
- Participate as part of a center-based interdisciplinary team to support child development
- Provide education, disabilities, health, and social service support to families
- Abide by all relevant state and federal regulations including Head Start Program Performance Standards and Head Start Act
- Actively supervise children in all environments by sight and sound at all times
- Maintain health and safety regulations to create a safe learning environment
