Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- No high school diploma, GED or college degree required
- No experience required and on the job training provided
Job Qualifications
- One year of prior multi-line reception experience or dispatching experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to use routing software and technology
- Customer service oriented
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Military or equivalent experience is considered a plus
Job Duties
- Coordinate and manage the efficient flow of taxis and drivers
- Receive calls, determine the suitable taxi availability, and direct taxis to customer locations
- Communicate with dispatch staff to arrange for taxis to be dispatched immediately or at a specified time
- Manage dispatching operations such as making sure vehicles have gas and oil to keep them running
- Track taxi activity to ensure that vehicles are dispatched in accordance with local laws and regulations
- Coordinate with taxi companies to provide service to special events and conventions
- Maintain communication with taxi drivers to ensure they reach customers quickly or punctually
- Track driver activity to ensure they take efficient routes and follow all traffic laws and regulations
- Use modern routing software in order to develop, alter, and optimize delivery routes
- Effectively communicate and serve as the liaison between drivers and customers
- Remain agile and ready to handle sudden route changes or delivery issues
