Job Requirements
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model requiring US presence 2-3 days per week
- Minimum 5 years corporate tax experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
- Solid knowledge of real estate tax including partnership taxation, REIT taxation, allocations, tax compliance, due diligence, acquisition/disposition planning
- Strong managerial skills in budgets, people and projects
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Active accreditation such as licensed CPA, attorney, enrolled agent, CFA, or CFP
- Limited immigration sponsorship available
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of corporate tax experience
- Solid understanding of real estate tax technical and transaction skills including partnership and REIT taxation
- Experience with federal tax compliance, federal tax accounting, tax provisions, tax analysis, and tax research
- Strong managerial experience including budget, people, and project management
- One active accreditation such as licensed CPA, licensed attorney, enrolled agent, CFA, or CFP
Job Duties
- Assisting clients with partnership life events such as formations, mergers, and initial public offerings
- Performing inside and outside basis computations, Section 704(c) and Section 743(b) computations, and Schedule K-1 processing
- Using proprietary technologies to enhance clients’ tax compliance processes and ensure worldwide tax compliance
- Maintaining and developing strong client relationships on a variety of federal tax consulting and compliance engagements within the real estate industry
- Advising clients on tax issues including REIT qualification, impacts of Tax Reform on passthrough entities, business restructuring, and tax controversy matters
- Overseeing complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects involving multiple entities and affiliates using advanced technology and data analytics
- Managing engagement workflow, resources, and billing while mentoring and developing junior staff including offshore teams and providing leadership and career guidance
