Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
- 5+ years in corporate tax experience
- licensed CPA in state of practice or alternative credential such as attorney, enrolled agent, CFA or CFP
- ability to travel up to 25%
- ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model requiring 2-3 days in office
- strong understanding of real estate tax technical and transactional skills including partnership and REIT taxation
- solid managerial skills in budgeting, people and project management
- limited immigration sponsorship available
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
- 5+ years in corporate tax experience
- solid understanding of real estate tax technical and transaction skills including partnership taxation, REIT taxation and qualification, partnership allocations, tax compliance, due diligence, acquisition and disposition planning and structuring
- experience with federal tax compliance, accounting and provisions, tax analysis, and tax research
- strong managerial experience with budgets, people and projects
- ability to travel up to 25%
- licensed CPA or alternatively licensed attorney, enrolled agent, or certifications such as CFA or CFP
- ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model requiring in-person presence 2-3 days per week
Job Duties
- Assisting clients with life events for partnerships including formations, mergers, and initial public offerings
- computing inside and outside basis, section 704(c), and section 743(b)
- processing Schedule K-1 forms
- using proprietary technologies to streamline client tax compliance processes and achieve worldwide compliance
- maintaining and developing strong client relationships on various federal tax consulting and compliance engagements in the real estate industry
- advising clients on tax issues including REIT qualification, impact of tax reform on passthrough entities, business restructuring, and tax controversy
- overseeing complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects requiring tax analysis utilizing advanced technology and data analytics
- managing engagement workflow, team resources, and billing
- mentoring junior staff including those in the U.S. India office and providing leadership, counseling, and career guidance
