Job Requirements

  • Education equivalent to a college degree or relevant experience
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience
  • Experience with tasting room or direct-to-consumer sales preferred
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with POS and reservation software
  • Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and special events
  • Physical ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and operate machinery
  • Commitment to safety and operational procedures

Job Qualifications

  • College degree in retail/business management, hospitality, or equivalent experience preferred
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience required
  • tasting room or direct-to-consumer wine sales experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and staff development skills
  • Ability to manage part-time staff, temporary employees, and volunteers with confidence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and winery software including POS and reservations systems
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable and punctual with ability to follow safety and operational procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate staff while maintaining a positive team environment
  • Knowledge of wine sales and upselling experiences a plus
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and special events

Job Duties

  • Supervise, coach, and mentor tasting room staff to achieve operational and performance standards
  • Train new staff and support ongoing development of existing team members
  • Assist with performance management including part-time staff reviews and development plans
  • Maintain high standards of staff accountability and deliver corrective guidance when needed
  • Be present and accessible to staff for questions, guidance, or guest support
  • Contribute to staff meeting content and team communications
  • Oversee daily tasting room flow including staffing, scheduling, and task prioritization
  • Collaborate with manager and DtC team to coordinate events, VIP visits, Wine Club initiatives, and guest experiences
  • Manage POS operations, cash handling, end-of-day reporting, and monthly inventory counts
  • Ensure opening and closing duties are completed accurately and on schedule
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for staff and guests
  • Support the team in meeting sales goals, data capture, and Wine Club enrollment targets
  • Participate in pre-shift and monthly meetings to communicate goals and incentives
  • Assist in enhancing guest experiences through Wine Club, tastings, and other offerings
  • Engage in local outreach and off-site events as needed
