Job Requirements
- 3-5 years progressive culinary/kitchen experience
- Extensive catering experience
- Experience with high-volume, complex food operations
- Institutional and batch cooking knowledge
- Skilled in hands-on cooking
- Knowledge of food trends, sanitation, and food cost controls
- Willingness to engage in client satisfaction initiatives
- Flexibility for long hours, nights, and weekends
- Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop, stand or walk for long periods
- Ability to travel to different NYC locations
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of progressive culinary/kitchen experience depending on training
- Extensive catering experience
- Experience in high-volume, complex food service operations is highly desirable
- Institutional and batch cooking experience a plus
- Hands-on cooking skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with focus on quality, production, sanitation, and food cost control
- Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs and activities
- Flexibility to work long hours, nights, and weekends on a rotating schedule
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance
- Ability to perform physical activities including bending, twisting, stooping, and standing or walking for extended periods
- Ability to travel to various NYC Convene locations
Job Duties
- Maintain full knowledge of menus, recipes, and event PEO requirements
- Participate professionally in daily food service, ensuring excellence in portioning, cooking, timing, plate assembly, and communication
- Prepare, cook, and serve menu items following recipes and ensuring high quality and presentation
- Prepare and deliver catering orders for meetings and events with precision and timeliness
- Assist colleagues in completing kitchen duties within time constraints
- Follow Convene's service steps and culinary standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Ensure constant sanitation, organization, and proper food handling
- Support onboarding of new culinary team members
- Assist with opening processes as needed
- Provide TaskForce property support across vacancies
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards throughout tasks
