Job Requirements

  • Experience as a catering Event Captain or similar supervisory role
  • Serving and bartending experience
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to work in fast-paced and flexible schedules including nights and weekends
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an event service Captain preferred
  • Knowledge of catering service standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekend and night shifts
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

Job Duties

  • Lead the catering service staff at weddings, special events, and catering functions
  • Meet with the Catering Sales team to review banquet event orders
  • Assign pre-event tasks to scheduled servers
  • Check servers and bartenders for proper uniform and grooming
  • Lead the banquet event order meeting and assign pre-shift tasks
  • Review Tabor Hill's service standards prior to every event
  • Set a sample table including all items to be placed on guest tables
  • Execute the opening list to ensure all tasks are completed on time
  • Assign service sections or teams and team leads
  • Monitor event timeline and communicate with the chef about schedule changes
  • Serve food and carry trays
  • Clear and clean guest tables
  • Oversee closing list, breakdown, and reset of event room
  • Ensure a positive and memorable experience for all guests
