Job Description
OSC Edge is a dynamic and innovative IT service provider founded in 2008 and owned by Cook Inlet Region, Inc., an Alaska Native Regional Corporation. Over the years, OSC Edge has evolved from a small business into a global team that specializes in delivering cutting-edge IT solutions primarily to U.S. Federal entities. As a trusted contractor for the Departments of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Department of Defense Educational Institutions, and significant corporate clients, OSC Edge maintains a strong footprint in the IT sector. The company’s core expertise spans cloud computing, cybersecurity, compliance management, enterprise architecture, IT support, and Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC). This focus allows the organization to offer comprehensive technology services that meet the rigorous standards of federal clients and adapt to the rapidly evolving landscape of information technology. OSC Edge values a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture that fosters innovation and professional growth. The company actively seeks talented professionals who are passionate about making a positive impact through their work and who desire a career in a stimulating and supportive environment. OSC Edge is committed to equal employment opportunities and seeks to attract a diverse workforce inclusive of veterans and individuals with disabilities.
The role of Systems Administrator at OSC Edge is pivotal to its mission of providing robust, reliable, and secure IT infrastructure and services. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Active Directory accounts and groups for garrison users, ensuring Windows Server 2016 environments are maintained at optimal performance standards. This position requires a deep understanding of server and client computer systems' Information Assurance requirements to guarantee compliance and security. The Systems Administrator provides diverse services including file sharing, print, media, and dedicated server management. In this role, the candidate will also support technicians with administrative computer issues, assist with turn-in processes, and contribute to technical support tasks.
As one of two Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in system administration, the Systems Administrator will lead numerous organizational functions and actively contribute to technology reporting and the adoption of emerging technologies. Responsibilities include performing administrative activities through console and scripted interfaces and leveraging System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to create task sequences tailored to meet various business needs. The successful candidate will be integral in creating, maintaining, and enforcing organizational standards to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency. Proficiency in remote desktop support, file and print services provisioning, and access control is essential.
The Systems Administrator will demonstrate extensive technical knowledge and experience with Windows Server operating systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting to ensure uninterrupted service availability. The role requires a proactive problem-solver who can imaginatively address a broad range of technical challenges with minimal supervision. Compliance with Army network policies and procedures is a key aspect of this role, reflecting the operational context of many of OSC Edge’s clients. Management of software installations, engineering efforts, and update creation for SharePoint tracking and reporting pages also fall within this position’s scope. Additionally, the role requires automating processes to enhance service delivery, auditing, and monitoring, alongside the collection, formatting, and reporting of organizational metrics to the program manager. Flexibility to perform other tasks assigned by OSC Edge and the Government contracting office underscores the role's broad responsibilities.
The Systems Administrator role at OSC Edge offers a competitive compensation package along with a comprehensive benefits offering designed to attract, retain, and engage top-tier IT professionals. Those eligible will have access to a range of quality healthcare plans, life insurance options, retirement plans including 401(k) and ROTH with company match, and unique benefits such as pet insurance and identity theft protection. This role is ideal for a seasoned IT professional with strong technical expertise, a commitment to security compliance, and a passion for contributing to mission-critical IT environments in a federal contracting setting.
