Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Two years of experience as an operator on a multiple line or main switchboard system
  • One year of administrative or clerical experience, preferably in a health care setting
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access
  • Ability to operate switchboard equipment and related hardware
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work collaboratively

  • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access

Job Duties

  • Operate a 12-extension phone system to answer and direct all incoming calls appropriately
  • Retrieve messages in the mornings and transfer calls to the answering service system after business hours
  • Follow up timely on messages and e-mails
  • Sort and distribute mail items appropriately
  • Provide customer service support to patients, students, families, staff, visitors, and vendors including supplying information, giving directions, greeting visitors, confirming visitor arrival, and controlling access
  • Provide routine administrative support such as data entry and managing the switchboard calendar
  • Work collaboratively within the Switchboard Operator team to provide coverage and support
