Job Duties
- receive all incoming calls to the hospital
- perform in-house paging, manage codes and dial-a-page system
- keep switchboard files updated with current room numbers, discharged patients, new admissions
- maintain updated employee information for disaster procedure files
- receive incoming calls to house extensions or patient rooms
- handle all emergency calls and pages
- contact appropriate personnel as situations warrant
- manage all intercom paging and general information from in-house and outside calling parties
- relay messages to on-call persons by paging, beeping or calling their home
- keep all pertinent information on the bulletin board and disaster policies updated
- stay abreast of all changes applicable to switchboard functions
- perform other duties as assigned
