Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year telephone customer service experience
- Computer and keyboarding skills
- General telephone and telecommunications knowledge
- Ability to maintain concentration and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to multitask and solve problems
- Physical ability to perform job duties including sitting and hearing
- Ability to speak, write, and understand English clearly
- Availability to work swing and second shifts including every other weekend
- Willingness to support a 24/7 operational department
- No sponsorship or visa transfers available
- Nonexempt employment status
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D)
- Minimum 1 year telephone customer service experience preferably in switchboard or call center role
- Computer and keyboarding experience
- General telephone and telecommunications knowledge
- Ability to search phonetically in a database
- High level of concentration, memory retention, and attention to detail
- Strong spoken communication and interaction skills
- Decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to multitask and perform under pressure
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Ability to clearly speak, write, and understand English
- Physical capability to view computer monitor, hear in both ears, sit for extended periods, and perform repetitive upper body motions
Job Duties
- Utilize electronic directory database to manage incoming and outgoing calls
- Provide communication assistance to patients, visitors, and staff in a professional manner
- Follow established hospital general and emergency procedures accurately and promptly
- Make phone calls, overhead announcements, pages, and other electronic notifications
- Handle calls with politeness, clarity, and professionalism throughout shifts
- Multitask and process a high volume of telephone calls with accuracy
- Support a 24/7 operational department by working swing and second shifts and other assigned shifts as needed
