Job Duties
- Greet and seat all guests in a hospitable, friendly, and timely manner
- Handle all incoming telephone calls before the third ring with professional verbiage and a positive tone
- Maintain a clean entrance area, hostess stand, and women's restroom
- Manage the reservations system including seating within reservation times and quoting accurate wait names
- Escort guests to assigned tables while engaging in light conversation and providing a hospitable start to their dining experience
- Interact professionally and hospitably with guests and co-workers
- Arrive on time for scheduled shifts ready to work
- Properly accept and book reservations
- Offer alternative time slots when preferred times are unavailable
- Calculate and quote accurate wait times
- Offer the bar for cocktails and appetizers during extensive wait times
- Keep floors, entry, and aisle ways clean and free of debris
- Assist in bussing tables when needed
- Provide guests with directions and assistance
- Thank all departing guests genuinely
- Be familiar with restaurant details to answer guest questions
- Provide information on daily menu additions, musical performances, and cocktail or wine features
- Answer phone calls, place on hold, or direct calls appropriately
- Communicate important information to managers on duty
