Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 or more years’ experience as a prep or line cook
- Knowledge of food safety and quality assurance practices
- Willingness to participate in and successfully complete a 6-month structured training program
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work standing for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- 2 or more years’ experience as a prep or line cook
- Food safety and quality assurance knowledge
- Associate's or bachelor’s degree in culinary arts (preferred)
- Experience working in a multi-faceted food service facility, including restaurant, hotel, country club, conference center, casino, theme park, etc. (preferred)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
Job Duties
- Assist the Sous Chef in running the kitchen and managing employees, overseeing the operations in the absence of the Sous Chef
- Follow recipes and proper cooking techniques to ensure products are consistently prepared to showcase our high standards and give our guests a meal they can’t find elsewhere
- Educate customers and employees on products, share knowledge to offer complete meal solutions and suggest ways for them to prepare meal items incorporating items from different departments
- Manage employee performance by providing resources, training, feedback and development opportunities
- Assist in maintaining food safety and quality assurance standards
- Support kitchen operations with inventory control and efficient use of ingredients
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen workflow and excellent customer satisfaction
