Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • at least 1 year of experience in a similar culinary role
  • knowledge of safe food handling practices
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • strong manual dexterity
  • willingness to adhere to restaurant policies and procedures
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare sushi rolls and raw bar items including shucking oysters
  • perform plating and garnishing of hot and cold menu items
  • inspect, clean, and maintain food preparation and serving areas
  • regulate cooking equipment temperatures to ensure proper food storage and cooking
  • check food freshness and rotate stock
  • comply with portion sizes, cooking methods, and quality standards
  • stock and maintain food levels at line stations
  • handle and store food products and supplies according to policies
  • turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking
  • season and cook food according to recipes or judgment
  • bake, roast, broil, and steam various foods
  • measure and mix ingredients as required
  • portion and arrange food for service
  • test foods for doneness
  • follow plate presentation and garnish setup
  • wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables
  • carve and trim meats
  • assist in food prep during off-peak periods
  • substitute for other cooks during rush times
  • close kitchen following checklists
  • attend employee meetings and suggest improvements
  • coordinate with staff to support guest needs and restaurant operations
  • fill in for fellow employees when needed
