Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous sushi preparation experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to use knives and culinary tools skillfully
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good customer service skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in sushi preparation or similar culinary role preferred
  • Strong knife skills and knowledge of sushi production techniques
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to interact positively with customers
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work efficiently during peak service times

Job Duties

  • Offer a unique combination of restaurant, catering and special event experience to customers
  • Demonstrate high-level knife skills and special skills associated with sushi prep, production and presentation
  • Store foods in designated areas following corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
  • Maintain sanitation of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area
  • Clean workstation thoroughly before leaving the area
  • Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service to assure compliance with all sanitation, ServSafe, safety, OSHA, production and merchandising requirements
  • Interact with customers to enhance dining experience
  • Demonstrate a complete understanding of daily menu items and explain them accurately to customers and associates
  • Keep up with peak production and service hours
  • Perform other duties as assigned
