Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking such as portioning, chopping, and storing
  • thaw food from the freezer to refrigerator
  • weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal criteria
  • cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists
  • monitor food quality during preparation
  • test dishes to determine doneness by tasting, smelling, or probing
  • ensure serving portions, arrangement, and food garnishing are appropriate
  • serve food in suitable portions and containers
  • use kitchen utensils safely and appropriately
  • wash and sanitize kitchen area, utensils, knives, and equipment
  • check and maintain correct temperature of appliances and food
  • report to manager if any product does not meet specifications
  • communicate and request assistance during busy periods
  • comply with all safety and company policies
  • report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions
  • participate in safety training and obtain certifications
  • maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance
  • greet and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
  • speak clearly and professionally with others
  • support team efforts to achieve common goals
  • listen and respond appropriately to employee concerns
  • ensure quality standards are met consistently
  • stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
