Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience working in a sushi or raw bar cook position
  • Understanding of safe food handling practices
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform kitchen duties
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and presentation standards
  • Good interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in sushi rolling and raw bar preparation
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to regulate cooking equipment temperatures
  • Strong plating and garnishing skills
  • Familiarity with various cooking methods including baking roasting broiling and steaming
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow restaurant policies and procedures

Job Duties

  • Promote work and act in a manner consistent with the mission of the SERG Restaurant Group
  • Inspect clean and maintain food preparation areas such as equipment and work surfaces to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating temperature of ovens broilers grills fryers roasters and other kitchen equipment
  • Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality keeping track of old and new items and rotating stock
  • Know and comply consistently with the restaurant's standard portion sizes cooking methods quality standards and kitchen rules policies and procedures
  • Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to support a smooth service period
  • Handle store and rotate all food products and supplies according to restaurant policies and procedures
