Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • Minimum of 1 year of closely related sushi cooking experience with food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
  • Ability to pass company provided food and safety sanitation class
  • Work experience in a high volume and casual dining restaurant environment
  • Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents
  • Ability to converse comfortably with customers

Job Duties

  • Follow recipes and/or product directions for proper food preparation and presentation
  • Follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies
  • Practice excellent food safety and sanitation practices and comply with HACCP standards
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
  • Prepare appropriate equipment for cooking
  • Operate kitchen utensils and equipment used for heating, weighing, measuring, mixing, washing, peeling, cutting, grinding, stirring, straining, slicing, assembling and kneading of food products
  • Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed for wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating and checking temperature of products
  • Receive and inventory food and beverage product and supplies
  • Clean and sanitize workstation and equipment
  • Stock, date, rotate and check temperature of product
