Job Requirements
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent GED
- requires a minimum of 1 year of closely related Sushi cooking experience with food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
- must be able to pass company provided food and safety sanitation class
- requires work experience in a high volume and casual dining restaurant environment
- requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
- requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents
- ability to speak and write Japanese a plus
- frequently works with sharp knives and utensils
- frequently immerses hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- minimum of 1 year of closely related Sushi cooking experience with food preparation skills
- knowledge of HACCP standards
- experience in a high volume and casual dining restaurant environment
- ability to follow recipes and food safety protocols
- good communication skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- basic understanding of Japanese language a plus
Job Duties
- Follows recipes and product directions for proper food preparation and presentation
- follows menus, estimates food requirements, checks production and keeps records
- practices excellent food safety and sanitation practices and complies with HACCP standards
- transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
- prepares appropriate equipment for cooking
- operates kitchen utensils and equipment for food preparation tasks
- ensures proper food handling procedures including wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating, and temperature checking
- receives and inventories food and beverage products and supplies
- cleans and sanitizes workstation and equipment
- stocks, dates, rotates and checks temperature of products
