Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Japanese cuisine or sushi preparation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Commitment to food safety and sanitation standards
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts
  • Physical capability to perform kitchen duties including lifting and standing for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • 2+ years of previous line cook experience preferred, especially in sushi or Japanese cuisine
  • Proficiency in basic and intermediate cooking techniques
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull moderate weight as required in a kitchen setting

Job Duties

  • Prepare and present high-quality sushi dishes including rolls, sashimi, and nigiri in accordance with restaurant standards
  • Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and prepped efficiently to meet service demands
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation following all food safety regulations
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to create new menu items and seasonal specials
  • Provide outstanding customer service, accommodating special requests and dietary restrictions
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with receiving supplies as needed
