Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of culinary experience making sushi and Japanese cuisine
  • Able to stand for extended hours
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills
  • Outstanding knife skills
  • Flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of culinary experience making sushi and Japanese cuisine
  • Country club experience a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety requirements for restaurants
  • Ability to prep and plate up ala carte and special event platters and boats
  • Able to read POS tickets and daily event orders
  • Able to stand for extended hours
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills
  • Outstanding knife skills
  • Bachelors degree in Culinary Arts or certification from a culinary school preferred but not necessary

Job Duties

  • Responsible for daily production/preparation of rice, cutting fish, sauces, Japanese related cuisine
  • Prepares raw fish in an appropriate manner
  • Slices ingredients into perfect strips
  • Makes sushi rice with perfect form and consistency
  • Manages storage of fruits, vegetables, and meat such as crab, eel, salmon, and tuna
  • Monitors inventory of supplies
  • Handles restocking of ingredients
  • Responsible for maintaining par stocks of daily items
  • Ensures adherence to highest quality food preparation and hygiene standards
  • Can perform well under pressure in a busy environment
  • Able to accommodate special requests from members
  • Ability to recommend and create daily specials and new menu items
