Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working in a sushi kitchen or Japanese-style food preparation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced airport environment
- Availability to work flexible shifts
- Compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to use personal protective equipment properly
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and handle kitchen equipment safely
Job Qualifications
- Relevant experience in Japanese-style cooking
- Relevant experience working in a sushi restaurant
- Knowledge of proper pH levels for sushi rice
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen areas
- Strong communication skills to report product runouts and equipment issues
- Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team
- Flexibility to perform additional duties as assigned by management
Job Duties
- Follow standard preparation and cooking procedures of the assigned facility as designated by the manager or chef
- Follow all recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant
- Coordinate the delivery of all foods within pre-set time standards
- Demonstrate product standards and recipe knowledge daily
- Set up, maintain side work, and/or close stations for scheduled shifts
- Prepare and plate station food items according to specifications and pre-set time limits
- Ensure safety and sanitation standards are maintained
