Job Requirements

  • previous experience as a sushi cook or sushi chef in a high-volume restaurant environment or sushi bar
  • proficiency in sushi preparation techniques including knife skills seafood handling and sushi rolling
  • knowledge of different types of fish seafood and sushi ingredients as well as sushi terminology and presentation styles
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
  • genuine love for culinary experiences and passion for Japanese cuisine
  • natural team player comfortable working with a large team
  • friendly customer-oriented approach

  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays as required

Job Duties

  • prepare sushi and sashimi dishes according to established recipes and plating standards
  • handle and portion seafood including slicing filleting and cutting fish for sushi and sashimi
  • ensure the freshness quality and proper storage of all seafood and ingredients used in sushi preparation
  • follow recipes and plating guidelines to ensure consistency and accuracy in sushi preparation
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station including equipment tools and work surfaces
