Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Japanese cuisine
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Excellent knife skills and sushi preparation techniques
- Flexibility to work nights weekends and holidays
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Physical stamina to handle kitchen duties and heavy lifting
Job Qualifications
- A genuine desire to satisfy the needs of others in a dynamic fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 2+ years of previous line cook experience preferred especially in sushi or Japanese cuisine
- Proficiency in basic and intermediate cooking techniques
- Flexibility to work weekends holidays and varied shifts
- Physical ability to lift carry push and pull moderate weight as required in a kitchen setting
Job Duties
- Prepare and present high-quality sushi dishes including rolls sashimi and nigiri in accordance with restaurant standards
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh properly stored and prepped efficiently to meet service demands
- Maintain a clean organized and sanitary workstation following all food safety regulations
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to create new menu items and seasonal specials
- Provide outstanding customer service accommodating special requests and dietary restrictions
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with receiving supplies as needed
