Job Requirements

  • Previous experience as a sushi cook or sushi chef
  • Proficiency in sushi preparation techniques
  • Knowledge of different types of fish and seafood
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Strong teamwork and communication abilities

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a sushi cook or sushi chef in a high-volume restaurant environment or sushi bar
  • Proficiency in sushi preparation techniques, including knife skills, seafood handling, and sushi rolling
  • Knowledge of different types of fish, seafood, and sushi ingredients, as well as sushi terminology and presentation styles
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • A genuine love for culinary experiences and passion for Japanese cuisine
  • Naturally friendly, customer-oriented, and skilled at creating memorable dining experiences
  • A natural team player who is at home working in sync with a large team

Job Duties

  • Prepare sushi and sashimi dishes according to established recipes and plating standards
  • Handle and portion seafood including slicing, filleting, and cutting fish for sushi and sashimi
  • Ensure the freshness, quality, and proper storage of all seafood and ingredients used in sushi preparation
  • Follow recipes and plating guidelines to ensure consistency and accuracy in sushi preparation
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, including equipment, tools, and work surfaces
