Job Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in sushi preparation or a similar role in a professional kitchen
- Ability to work as part of a team supporting the flow of service and collaborating with culinary leaders
- Strong understanding of Japanese cuisine principles including sushi techniques, knife skills, and ingredient selection
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment

Job Duties
- Assist in preparing and executing a variety of sushi offerings including nigiri, sashimi, and maki rolls with an emphasis on quality and consistency
- Help source the finest local and seasonal ingredients in collaboration with senior culinary staff
- Demonstrate proficiency in traditional Japanese sushi techniques maintaining high standards for taste and presentation
- Exhibit attention to detail to ensure each dish is visually appealing and reflects the precision of Japanese cuisine
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace adhering to food safety standards
- Work closely with the culinary team to support consistency and quality across all dishes contributing ideas and techniques to enhance the sushi program
- Uphold Living Room's values of being human, empathetic, and soulful in interactions with guests and colleagues
- Assist in training other cooks in traditional Japanese preparation techniques including rice preparation and knife skills
