Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in grocery or retail environments preferred
  • possession of a valid food handling license
  • ability to safely operate knives and sushi preparation equipment
  • ability to work in cold ambient temperatures
  • ability to meet company productivity standards

Job Duties

  • Assists the manager in meeting sales and profit projections through sushi preparation and adherence to company policies
  • works various shifts or days as assigned based on business needs
  • ensures sushi is prepared, handled, stocked, rotated, and merchandised for best results
  • safely operates department equipment including knives and sushi appliances
  • maintains proper knife grip to cut fish and seafood to specification
  • withstands working in temperatures of 40°F or more for extended periods
  • meets productivity standards set by the company
  • uses in-store computer systems and scanning equipment accurately
  • weighs, prices, labels, organizes, and rotates sushi products per company standards
  • assists customers with special requests and questions
  • supports promotional activities within the store
  • maintains good communication with store management, associates, and outside contacts
  • performs other tasks as assigned by the manager
