Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 2 years of experience in retail or grocery environment
- Food handling license required
- Ability to stand and work in cold environments
- Ability to operate sushi preparation equipment
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Capacity to work efficiently and maintain productivity
- Willingness to adhere to all health and safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- A minimum of 2 to 4 years work experience in grocery or retail preferred
- Experience in retail or restaurant environment preferred
- Previous sushi or seafood handling experience is an advantage
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Possession of a valid food handling license
- Competency in planning, organizing, and time management
- Attention to detail and quality assurance
- Problem-solving skills and ability to follow company policies
Job Duties
- Assist the manager in meeting sales and profit projections through sushi preparation and adherence to company policies
- Work various shifts or days as assigned based on business needs
- Ensure sushi is prepared, handled, stocked, rotated, and merchandised for best results
- Safely operate department equipment including knives and sushi appliances
- Maintain proper knife grip to cut fish and seafood to specification
- Withstand working conditions of 40F or more for extended periods
- Meet productivity standards set by the company
- Use in-store computer system and scanning equipment for pricing and labeling
- Weigh, price, label, organize, and rotate sushi products per company standards
- Assist customers with special requests and questions
- Support promotional activities within the store and department
- Maintain good communication with store management, associates, and outside contacts
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager
