Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 to 4 years of work experience in grocery or retail preferred
- Previous experience in retail or restaurant environment preferred
- Possession of a food handling license
- Ability to work various shifts based on business needs
- Ability to operate department equipment safely
- Ability to stand for long periods and withstand cold working conditions
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to use in-store computer and scanning equipment
- Ability to handle and prepare sushi safely and according to company standards
- Compliance with health and OSHA regulations
- Physical ability to lift and carry weights as described
- Willingness to learn new methods and adapt to changes
Job Qualifications

- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and regulations

Job Duties
- Assist the manager in meeting sales and profit projections through sushi preparation and adherence to company policies
- Work various shifts or days based on business needs
- Ensure sushi is prepared, handled, stocked, rotated and merchandised properly
- Safely operate department equipment including knives and sushi tools
- Maintain knife grip to cut fish or seafood to specifications
- Withstand working environment temperatures of 40 degrees Fahrenheit or more
- Meet productivity standards as set by the company
- Use in-store computer system and scanning equipment
- Weigh, price, label, organize and rotate sushi products per company standards
- Assist customers with special requests and questions
- Support promotional activities within the store and department
- Maintain good communication with management, associates and outside contacts
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager
