Job Requirements

  • Standing for extended periods in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • lifting up to 30 pounds (ingredients, containers, equipment)
  • repetitive motions including chopping, rolling, and plating
  • flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Texas Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain shortly after hire

Job Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of sushi preparation experience preferred
  • strong knife skills and familiarity with sushi preparation techniques
  • ability to work quickly, cleanly, and consistently under pressure
  • positive attitude and excellent communication with team members
  • Texas Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain shortly after hire
  • flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Prepare sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and other menu items to company specifications
  • maintain ingredient freshness, proper storage, and accurate FIFO rotation
  • keep a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation throughout service
  • follow all food safety practices and Texas food handling regulations
  • collaborate with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to support smooth service
  • assist with daily prep, inventory checks, and restocking needs
  • demonstrate and uphold all TRAPCHK values: teamwork, respect, accountability, passion, honesty, and kindness
