Job Requirements

  • 1 or more years of experience working in high-volume and guest-facing food service preferred
  • Knowledge in proper food and drink handling and storage
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy restaurant environment
  • Ability to maneuver about inside the restaurant to access equipment and supplies
  • Ability to operate basic office and restaurant equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers
  • Ability to distinguish different tastes such as sweet and bitter flavors

Job Qualifications

  • 1-2 years culinary experience or culinary education preferred
  • Knowledge in proper food and drink handling and storage
  • Experience working in high-volume and guest-facing food service preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams
  • Strong communication skills
  • Passion for Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation

Job Duties

  • Follow company policies and food safety and sanitation standards
  • Maintain clean and organized workstations practicing safe and sanitary food handling
  • Engage in continued education surrounding Japanese cuisine and beverages
  • Work with kitchen and FOH teams to ensure consistent and timely preparation of ingredients and sushi bar menu items
  • Progress through stations including roll case, front case, and wheel with focus areas such as vegetable prep, fish breakdown, and order organization
  • Interact with guests, especially at the sushi bar, creating omakase experiences
  • Perform additional duties specific to each position as needed
