Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Hy-Vee food safety training and Food Safety Certification
- one to three years of similar or related work experience
- ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently and 10 pounds constantly
- visual acuity with depth perception and color vision
- ability to perform balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- ability to do logical or scientific thinking to solve problems
- ability to perform arithmetic calculations
- ability to compose correspondence and follow technical manuals
- strong communication skills
Job Qualifications

- Hy-Vee food safety training and Food Safety Certification
- one to three years of similar or related work experience
- prior meal preparation experience preferred
- ability to solve problems using logical or scientific thinking
- ability to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
- ability to compose original correspondence
- able to follow technical manuals
- excellent communication skills to identify customer needs and provide guidance
Job Duties
- Prepares fresh sushi for customers both packaged and made-to-order
- provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as most important
- smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether in designated department or elsewhere
- makes an effort to learn customers’ names and address them by name whenever possible
- answers telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service including taking product orders
- assists customers by escorting them to products, securing items out of reach, loading/unloading heavy items, noting and passing along customer suggestions, and enhancing shopping experience
- works with co-workers as a team and provides training to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
- practices proper sanitation procedures and ensures work area is clean and neat
- involved in schedules and overseeing food ordering and planning
- communicates with customers about food and preparation
- aids in merchandising techniques and food layout
- attends company and industry meetings as assigned
- adheres to policies and guidelines
- reports to work on time
- plans and performs fresh sushi demonstrations
- stays current on meal trends and menu planning
- performs other job-related duties and special projects as required
