Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior experience in sushi preparation or related culinary field preferred
- ability to stand and walk continually throughout entire shift
- ability to lift carry and stack items weighing up to 50 lbs
- manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform related tasks
- ability to bend stoop and reach while carrying items up to 50 lbs
- ability to work in an environment with exposure to extreme heat steam and cold
- must follow all health and safety policies and procedures
- availability to work required shifts without telework or flexible scheduling

- good understanding of menu and cooking methods such as using knives stove fryer steamer and oven

Job Duties
- Operate in the sushi bar and back of the house ensuring food is prepared safely effectively and according to specifications or requests
- ensure ingredients and final products are fresh and complete
- follow recipes including measuring weighing and mixing ingredients
- bake grill steam boil fry and chop meat seafood fruits vegetables and grains
- present and garnish final dishes to be visually attractive
- maintain a clean and safe work environment
- contribute to stocking ordering and purchasing ingredients ensuring availability and freshness while minimizing spoilage and waste by communicating needs to the Head Sushi Chef
- communicate issues with kitchen equipment utensils or operating supplies to the Head Sushi Chef
- handle and store different types of ingredients appropriately
- maintain food and safety sanitation standards policies and procedures
- assist serving staff as needed
- assist other kitchen staff as needed
- clean outside of kitchen including dining room as needed
- perform other duties as assigned
