Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Hy-Vee food safety training
  • food safety certification
  • one to three years of similar or related work experience
  • ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently and up to 10 pounds constantly
  • ability to perform physical movements including balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and repetitive motions
  • strong logical and scientific thinking skills
  • ability to perform arithmetic calculations
  • ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • food safety certification through Hy-Vee
  • one to three years of related work experience preferred
  • prior meal preparation experience preferred
  • ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
  • ability to compose correspondence and follow technical manuals
  • excellent customer communication skills

Job Duties

  • Prepares fresh sushi for customers both packaged and made-to-order
  • provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service
  • smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner
  • makes an effort to learn customers' names and to address them by name
  • answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers including taking product orders
  • assists customers by escorting them to products or securing out of reach items
  • works with co-workers as a team and provides training
  • practices proper sanitation procedures and ensures the work area is clean
  • oversees food ordering and planning
  • communicates with customers regarding food and preparation
  • aids in merchandising techniques and food layout
  • attends company and industry meetings
  • adheres to company policies
  • reports to work on time
