Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum three years of experience in upscale sushi preparation
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of HACCP food safety guidelines
  • Strong technical culinary skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Physical capability to lift up to 40 pounds and work extended hours in a fast-paced environment
  • Availability to travel up to 25 percent as needed
  • Valid food handler certification preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Three plus years in upscale sushi preparation and high-volume operations
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and inspire culinary teams
  • Exceptional knife skills and deep knowledge of sushi techniques and HACCP standards
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and commitment to guest satisfaction
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office and reservation/order systems
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • ServSafe or Department of Health certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare and present high-quality sushi with attention to detail, flavor, and aesthetics
  • Own the sushi station's setup, breakdown, and daily operations, ensuring a seamless and engaging guest experience
  • Follow HACCP guidelines and ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of all perishable items
  • Train, mentor, and motivate team members to uphold high standards of hospitality and professionalism
  • Partner with the Executive Chef to manage staff, implement company policies, and drive operational excellence
  • Stay current with culinary trends and bring fresh ideas to enhance the sushi offerings and overall dining experience
