Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum three years of experience in upscale sushi preparation
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of HACCP food safety guidelines
- Strong technical culinary skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Physical capability to lift up to 40 pounds and work extended hours in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to travel up to 25 percent as needed
- Valid food handler certification preferred
Job Qualifications
- Three plus years in upscale sushi preparation and high-volume operations
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and inspire culinary teams
- Exceptional knife skills and deep knowledge of sushi techniques and HACCP standards
- High level of integrity, discretion, and commitment to guest satisfaction
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office and reservation/order systems
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- ServSafe or Department of Health certification preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare and present high-quality sushi with attention to detail, flavor, and aesthetics
- Own the sushi station's setup, breakdown, and daily operations, ensuring a seamless and engaging guest experience
- Follow HACCP guidelines and ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of all perishable items
- Train, mentor, and motivate team members to uphold high standards of hospitality and professionalism
- Partner with the Executive Chef to manage staff, implement company policies, and drive operational excellence
- Stay current with culinary trends and bring fresh ideas to enhance the sushi offerings and overall dining experience
