Job Requirements

  • Minimum two years experience in kitchen preparation and line cook experience
  • Positive attitude and readiness to assist support staff
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand basic cooking directions
  • Effective communication with managers, employees, and guests
  • Flexible availability for varied shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, push, pull, or lift occasionally

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to stand and walk constantly with occasional stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, or lifting

Job Duties

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare the highest quality of sushi for guests
  • Compile with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies
  • Provide training and guidance to other members regarding sushi culinary procedures and plating
  • Prepare and present all food items, hot and cold, per sushi outlet standards
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation including tables, shelves, and refrigeration equipment
  • Adhere to all cleanliness and sanitation regulations
  • Close the kitchen properly following the closing checklist
  • Report product shortages, equipment problems, or food quality issues promptly to the Chef
