Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Hy-Vee food safety training
  • Food Safety Certified
  • one to three years of similar or related work experience
  • prior experience in meal preparation preferred
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
  • ability to stand and perform repetitive motions
  • willingness to work under pressure
  • willingness to adhere to company policies and safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • previous experience in meal preparation preferred
  • ability to provide excellent customer service
  • knowledge of proper sanitation and food safety practices

Job Duties

  • Prepares fresh sushi for customers both packaged and made-to-order
  • provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions
  • smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner
  • makes an effort to learn customers’ names and address them by name
  • answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service including taking product orders
  • assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach products, loading/unloading heavy items, making note of customer suggestions
  • works with co-workers as a team and provides training
  • understands and practices proper sanitation procedures
  • involved in schedules and overseeing food ordering and planning
  • communicates to customers regarding food and preparation
  • aids in merchandising techniques and food layout
  • attends company and industry meetings
  • adheres to company policies and reports to work on time
