Job Requirements

  • Minimum two years’ experience in kitchen preparation and line cook experience
  • positive energy and readiness to assist fellow staff and work as a team player
  • ability to speak, read and understand basic cooking directions
  • effective communication skills with managers, employees, and guests
  • flexible schedule to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • ability to stand and walk constantly with occasional stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling or lifting

Job Duties

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare the highest quality of sushi for guests
  • ensure compliance with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies
  • provide training and guidance to other team members regarding sushi culinary techniques and plating
  • prepare and present all food items, hot and cold, according to sushi outlet standards
  • maintain a clean and sanitary workstation including tables, shelves, refrigeration equipment
  • adhere to all cleanliness and sanitation regulations
  • close the kitchen properly following established closing checklists
  • promptly report product shortages, equipment problems, or food quality issues to the Chef
