Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- food safety certification
- one to three years of similar or related work experience
- prior experience in meal preparation preferred
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and 10 pounds constantly
- ability to perform physical activities including balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- capable of vision and color recognition
- able to work in fast-paced environment with exposure to raw fish, flour, dust, noise, temperature extremes and cleaning chemicals
- successful completion of pre-employment drug screen
Job Qualifications

- Hy-Vee food safety training
- food safety certified
- one to three years of related work experience
- prior meal preparation experience preferred
- ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
- ability to solve problems with abstract and concrete variables

Job Duties
- Prepares fresh sushi for customers both packaged and made-to-order
- provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience
- smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner
- makes an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name
- answers telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service including taking product orders
- assists customers with product location, securing items, loading and unloading
- works with co-workers as a team and provides training
- understands and practices proper sanitation procedures and ensures work area cleanliness
- involved in scheduling and overseeing food ordering and planning
- communicates with customers regarding food and preparation
- aids in merchandising sushi foods and food layout
- attends company and industry meetings
- adheres to company policies and guidelines
- reports to work on time as scheduled
