Job Requirements
- knowledge of restaurant kitchen procedures
- basic knife skills
- solid understanding of food preparation and health code standards
- at least one year of experience as a sushi chef
- knowledge of food safety and handling requirements
- good time management skills
- professional dress speech and behavior
- ability to work AM lunch shifts and evening dinner shifts
Job Qualifications
- 1+ year minimum experience as a sushi chef
- formal culinary training a plus
- excellent communication skills verbal and written
- knowledge of general sanitary and safety practices
- able to bend kneel squat stand and lift heavy objects as needed
- able to work days evenings weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Prepares food items to order following established recipes and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety
- follows safety and sanitation rules and practices
- cleans work areas and all equipment used in food preparation
- prepares various types of Japanese cuisine including sushi
- ensures compliance with federal, state, and local food safety regulations
- creates visually appealing presentations of dishes
- interacts positively with customers
