Job Requirements

  • knowledge of restaurant kitchen procedures
  • basic knife skills
  • solid understanding of food preparation and health code standards
  • at least one year of experience as a sushi chef
  • knowledge of food safety and handling requirements
  • good time management skills
  • professional dress speech and behavior
  • ability to work AM lunch shifts and evening dinner shifts

Job Qualifications

  • 1+ year minimum experience as a sushi chef
  • formal culinary training a plus
  • excellent communication skills verbal and written
  • knowledge of general sanitary and safety practices
  • able to bend kneel squat stand and lift heavy objects as needed
  • able to work days evenings weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Prepares food items to order following established recipes and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety
  • follows safety and sanitation rules and practices
  • cleans work areas and all equipment used in food preparation
  • prepares various types of Japanese cuisine including sushi
  • ensures compliance with federal, state, and local food safety regulations
  • creates visually appealing presentations of dishes
  • interacts positively with customers
