Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous sushi and knife skills experience preferred
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work full time Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks in a busy kitchen environment
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- Previous sushi preparation experience
- Proficiency in knife skills specific to sushi making
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards including ServSafe
- Ability to interact professionally with customers
- Experience in restaurant, catering, or special event food service
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area
- Flexibility to work full-time schedule Monday through Friday
Job Duties
- Prepare and present sushi and related food products to customers
- Demonstrate high-level knife skills and special skills associated with sushi preparation, production, and presentation
- Store foods in designated areas following corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
- Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
- Maintain sanitation of all equipment, supplies, and utensils within work area
- Clean workstation thoroughly before leaving and keep display equipment clean during meal service
- Interact with customers to enhance dining experience and explain daily menu items
- Manage peak production and service hours
- Perform other duties as assigned
