Job Requirements

  • ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions
  • ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks
  • ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts
  • ability to have constant interaction with various individuals daily

Job Qualifications

  • strong interpersonal skills for daily interaction with individuals at various levels
  • reliable attendance and punctuality
  • experience in sushi preparation or food service preferred
  • knowledge of food safety standards and practices

Job Duties

  • Acknowledge, greet, and engage all guests
  • prepare various finfish, shellfish, and fresh produce items for sushi
  • prepare, test, and maintain food safety records for sushi rice
  • assemble, package, and label sushi, sides, and spring rolls for sale
  • assemble custom sushi rolls at customer request
  • train and assist other associates as needed
  • comply with all Food City policies and food safety standards
  • inspect and maintain product quality
  • monitor temperatures and shelf lives of ingredients and packages
  • keep workstation and area clean
  • maintain knowledge of sushi menu and ingredients
  • actively market sushi program through sampling
  • assist in ordering supplies to maintain inventory
  • assist with proper signage
  • communicate customer comments and requests to manager
  • perform other assigned duties
