Job Requirements

  • Knowledge of and ability to consistently prepare all food recipes and sub-recipes
  • ability to communicate effectively in English with guests and employees verbally and in writing in a professional manner
  • minimum 3 years experience as a sushi chef
  • ability to expedite tickets accurately and timely and read/understand kitchen monitors or printed tickets
  • must have personal knives and small hand tools including maki-su
  • working knowledge of proper cooling and storing practices per health department rules
  • ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • ability to follow directions in fast-paced environment, manage time effectively, and work well in a team
  • must have a valid Washington State Health Card and any other required government cards at all times
  • desire to learn and grow with passion for progress in career

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience working as a sushi chef
  • knowledge of all food recipes and sub-recipes
  • ability to communicate effectively in English in both verbal and written form
  • ability to expedite tickets accurately and timely
  • working knowledge of health department rules for cooling and storing practices
  • ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
  • ability to follow directions in a fast-paced environment
  • strong team player
  • possession of personal knives and small hand tools including maki-su
  • current valid Washington State Health Card

Job Duties

  • Prepares food orders for guests using prescribed recipes and standards
  • maintains a clean and safe work environment including kitchen walk-in coolers and storage room
  • monitors proper par levels of all supplies at assigned stations
  • communicates any problems or situations detrimental to property to the Manager or Chef on Duty
  • interacts with guests in a manner that makes them feel comfortable and welcome when applicable
  • sets up the kitchen for operation by preparing produce, meats, and any food items needed for service
  • works in assigned locations and shifts according to business needs
  • works with a sense of urgency to meet guests' demands in a timely fashion
  • uses equipment including cookware, dishwashing machines, kitchen monitors, kitchen printers, and POS terminals
  • performs other duties as assigned by the company
