Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • one to two years of culinary experience
  • bi-lingual Japanese and knowledge of Japanese cuisine
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • attention to detail
  • able to communicate verbally in English
  • able to work effectively and relate well with others
  • able to perform basic arithmetic
  • able to read and analyze written information
  • ServSafe certificate

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Entertains guests while preparing sushi orders by providing an entertaining display of cooking skills and showmanship
  • engages guests through conversation and the introduction of Japanese culture
  • prepares all food items as requested by the guest following sushi preparation guidelines
  • ensures proper setup of all work areas balancing preparation times of different orders
  • accommodates guest allergies and special requirements
  • prepares and operates EVO Grill
  • follows established food safety, sanitation, and HACCP procedures
  • maintains a clean work station
  • follows company handbook and procedures
  • coaches new hires about food preparation and hygiene
  • oversees new hires' work
  • performs other duties as assigned
