Job Requirements

  • One year technical work experience in surveying or closely related experience
  • Valid Florida Class E Driver's License
  • Ability to perform survey-related physical tasks including lifting and manual labor
  • Willingness to work under exposure to traffic and moving machinery
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Commitment to emergency service responsibilities
  • Completion of an application without attachments
  • Agreement to truthful answers in supplemental questions

Job Qualifications

  • One year of technical work experience in surveying or related field
  • Familiarity with electronic data collection equipment
  • Experience with GPS/GNSS technology
  • Proficiency with digital levels, LIDAR, and drone technology
  • Knowledge of Carlson/Spectra software
  • Experience in roadway surveying and construction layout
  • Valid Florida Class E Driver's License
  • Preferred associate degree or higher in engineering or technical coursework
  • Certifications such as Certified Survey Technician Level 1, FDOT MOT, FAA Part 107, and First Aid/CPR

Job Duties

  • Operate work vehicle to transport survey tools to job sites
  • Assist in locating and reconnaissance of survey control points and property corners
  • Accurately set up survey equipment and maintenance of traffic devices
  • Locate field conditions and improvements per survey work order
  • Operate Total Station and electronic data collector to measure and record survey data
  • Read survey levels and record readings in field book
  • Conduct related tasks to complete surveys as assigned
